Caminhada sonora no Monte da Ervilha com o artista sonoro Wouter Jaspers
This soundwalk invites participants to slow down and listen with the forest. Through guided attention, simple listening tools, and moments of silence, we will explore Monte da Ervilha as a living acoustic environment, shaped by human and more-than-human presence.
Rather than collecting sounds, the walk focuses on tuning perception: listening with the body, noticing subtle vibrations, rhythms, and resonances that often go unheard. The session will move between walking, stopping, and shared listening, creating space to reflect on how sound connects us to place, material, and ecology.
No previous experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to listen.
Wouter Jaspers is an electro-acoustic sound artist, composer, and (electronic) instrument designer making use of his busy tour schedule to amass a field recording and noise archive where the narrative qualities of sound become catalysts for dark musical chasms and ear-splitting adventures. Active on the fringes of the electronic underground for over 20 years, Jaspers records and performs music under his own name, but also as Franz Fjödor, Das Gezicht, A Cryptic Mantra and many others. His focus the past five years has been on composing and performing with raw radio waves and fieldrecordings, for which he developes his own instruments and workflow.Â
Together with Dutch legend Frans de Waard he is Ezdanitoff, and with fellow Berliner Hainbach he performs and releases records as Odd Narrative and together with Karin Weissenbrunner as DECCAdent. He is the co-founder of Berlin instrument manufacturer KOMA Elektronik and produces microphones and special instruments for his own brand Sonic Artefacts. Since 2023 he has been an active contributor at Sonoscopia in Porto, where he mostly works on the experimental sound studio. Besides his research and composition work he also works regularly as a sound director and performer with Ensemble KNM Berlin and does live sound direction and live electronics with Norwegian saxophonist Bendik Giske.Â
New work will be released soon by Wouter together with Mexican voice artist Rodrigo Ambriz on Skupina Label and collaborative projects with German contra bass clarinettist Theo Nabicht, Portuguese saxophonist Pedro Alves Sousa and Sonoscopia’s Henrique Fernandes.
